Fairytale Cafe

Spectacular is an understatement in describing Fairytale Cafe. It has hands down crushed the instagrammable café game since its inception in late 2021.
I was totally smitten at first sight with this cafe. Only to realize as I entered that there is so much more than meets the eye (so to speak). From ceiling to floor, wall to wall, every nook and cranny has been loaded with pretty decors and details. You certainly would want to take photos at every corner. I know I did! But what I appreciate in their aesthetic is that although its heavy on décor, its done in a tasteful, thoughtful and harmonious manner … not just stacked flowers one of top of the other.
Whichever spot you sit is pretty instagrammable, so the struggle for is really to choose which spot I liked best.. and boy, was that hard. If you are early and its not so busy, the staff will very kindly allow you to take photos around as long as you don’t get in anybody's way.
There is an area that is a paradise for all pink lovers out there. Not into pink, no worries as there is another area with the green jungle theme.
I must admist that I came here mainly because its pretty and I wanted to order something just as pretty, I didn’t care if its edible or not. So, I was pretty pleased that the food is actually good. Pretty to photograph, delish to the belly.. now that’s a good combo.
Tip: Don’t forget to go up to the second level, even their elevator is instagrammable. The top level is called the flamingo room.
Also check out the WC as well. When I say nothing has been spared, I mean that even the water closet is one of the prettiest i've seen in my lifetime. I admired it for so long that my husband thought that I encountered some issues.
Urban Attic Rooftop

This rooftop bar has bragging rights in terms of having a view to boot. Ok, I know that there is certainly no lacking of rooftop bars/cafes in Athens, and many of them does have the coveted view of the acropolis, but then there's the creme of the crop, that goes above and beyond and makes their cafe instagramable by additional decor or installation.
Urban Attic Rooftop is certainly one of them! Who wouldn’t want to swing into the acropolis while enjoying a cocktail or a espresso fredoo?! You can definitely count me in! And if you take a snap, then that is enough to spruce up your IG feed.
Hyper Astro Bar

Another rooftop bar that offers a top-notch view of the acropolis and Monastiraki. For that artistic edge and the perfect IG spot a bougainvillea structure was built to strategically frame the acropolis.
Cocktail with the view?! What else can your IG feed ask for?
Also, I wanna commend the kindness of the staff on Hyper Astro Bar. We have arrived a tad too early but they have very kindly allowed us to take photos.
M/S Rooftop Café

Torn between a café with a view or café loaded with flowers? Then save yourself from making a decision and head on to M/S Rooftop and enjoy both. The lower floor is decorated prettily that is absolutely IG worthy while the upper floor has the view of the Acropolis. If I must say, this is a winner both in the location and décor department.

A+++ for maximum effort in transforming this place into a whimsical wonderland! The costume-donned staff & servers will certainly be transported in a fantasy land.
If your IG feed needs that pop of color and a touch of whimsy then a visit here is a must. If you want a momentary escape from reality, then this is that place too!
Worth noting too, is that a permanent theme is not enough for Little Kook. It is constantly reinventing and changing its decor depending on their current theme, one prettier than other. Hats off to the owners/decorators whose goal seem to be that of outdoing its previous decorations.
Confession Time: I would normally take photos here in the morning before it opens, and the staff who prepares the place are courteous and accommodating. As the place makes me happy, I wanted to support the business and came a few times to dine. I don't know if its because the place is extremely busy, but its never the best service. I have also a very "off" putting incident with during one of our best (its a long story so i will spare you the details.) Here is the deal, I'd say Little Kook is a pioneer in IG cafes in Athens, but others that are in on the game are totally smashing, and so they might lag behind if service and food quality is not as par as the others....
Tazza Cafe

Tazza Cafe is gobsmacked right into the commercial heart of Athens. This quaint cafe has a cornucopia of eclectic decor which is predominantly Victorian style. Outside is filled with hanging wisteria and bougainvillea, plus pretty multi-coloured lanterns.
The hidden gem in this cafe is the washroom.... ok, don't be leery now! Believe me, you need to check it out even if you are not into using public restroom. The fabulousness level of this loo is a 100. Tazza is a favour hangout of locals working around the area or shoppers from Ermou taking a break so it can get hectic from mid morning. Taking a photo from a spot you fancy can be a challenge. So go early, this photos are taken at 8:00 am and the place is almost empty.
Melina Mercouri Cafe

A café in the heart of Plaka dedicated to the well loved and highly revered actress and politician Melina Mercouri. As to be expected, the interior of the café is filled with memorabilia of Melina Mercouri, with her music playing while you dine. Outside, is a 20 year old bougainvillea that certainly adds to the charm of this cafe making it even more picturesque.

This is hands down one of my favorite cafe! I'd definitely give it exceptional rating and 5 stars in all categories (food, decor, service)!
Get giddy high with the various flower walls, and hanging wisteria like flowers, be delighted by beautifully plated food delights and drink that is every inch instagram worthy. Oh, I just love and adore everything here.
Located in the shopping district of Piraeus, so you can very easily combine your visit with shopping! If you are cruising, and only have a few hours to spare then this certainly the place to dine due to its close proximity to the port.

The vintage vibe and rustic feel to this place makes it absolutely homey and cozy. Every corner and spot from exterior to interior has been meticulously decorated with all sorts of cutesy trinkets and quirky decor that you would want a photo in every nook and cranny.

If you are looking for something more traditional and a little less too girly then this is the place. Perfect spot to end your day, soak in more Greek tradition as you listen to traditional Greek music and savour Greek food. Capture your photo with the beautifully lighted canopy of lights. Don't forget to head indoors for an indoor garden and hanging plants as well.
